Sketchbook Safari, Oak Hill park and woods

I am blessed to have lush green Oak Hill Park and woods on my doorstep. The Sketchbook Safari in Oak Hill Park and woods offers a very different experience to those in London. The pace is slow, soothing, restorative. You will create a pocket-sized sketchbook, loosely paint the pages as a coloured background for your drawing, then wander with me and a small group of women in the park and woods, drawing as we go, We will pause, observe our surroundings, breathe deeply and listen to the sounds of nature all around. I will provide gentle prompts along the way, encourage you to slow down and invite you to settle at different spots along the way as you fill your little sketchbook. This beautiful backdrop provides the perfect relaxed atmosphere and I adjust each session to match the pace of the group, so you can relax and focus on exploring and responding to our beautiful surroundings. The painted background helps ease the fear of the blank page; you then draw what you see or note how you feel.

The cost of this 3-hour workshop is just £33.

South Bank Sketchbook Safari
Friday 29th may, 11.30am-1.30pm, £25 - spaces available

Our next London Sketchbook Safari takes place in and around the South Bank. This urban exploration is perfect for the curious creative who loves to draw. I will guide you as you paint and fold watercolour paper into your very own pocket-sized sketchbook. The painted background will help you ease that fear of the blank page and as I provide prompts along the way to encourage you to fill your little sketchbook with visual notes. We will move to different locations around the South Bank and I have identified locations that are both open and covered so we can adapt our stopping off points according to the weather, providing cover or shade as appropriate.

There are no expectations of perfectionism here - in fact, the whole workshop is about expressing and experimenting on a small and portable scale. Come, create and connect with me and a small, friendly group of women. You can bring or buy your own refreshments, but all materials for the workshop will be supplied. If you have preferred art materials of your own, you can of course bring and use these.

The cost of the workshop is just £25.
