This painting was inspired by a series of photographs I took in my local park on a grey-sky day. The silhouettes of the leaves and branches against the blank canvas of the winter sky looked so striking. It was my intention to capture the temporary nature of such sights, especially at those times when the leaves fall with just the slightest breeze or lightest rainfall or the brush of a hand.
